A busy month puts a lot more bookings, reminders, texts and payments through our system, and that costs us more to run. A slow month costs us less, so we charge you less. Your quiet season shouldn’t cost the same as your summer.

We checked Flex against 44 real months from BooknBuddy shops that took in $1,000 or more between March and August 2026. Every one of them came out cheaper than Gingr, usually by about $138 a month, and about 9 in 10 came out cheaper than PetExec or Paw Partner.
Compared with each provider’s published per-location monthly price for boarding and daycare (Gingr Daycare US$169, PetExec US$105, Paw Partner US$99.99), converted at 1.37. Card processing fees apply with every provider and are not included. “A first”: as of September 2026 we know of no other pet care booking platform whose monthly price is set each month by what the business actually took in. Prices are in Canadian dollars; US businesses start at US$29.99.

There are six coat groups (Short/Smooth, Double Coat, Curly/Doodle, Wire/Rough, Long/Silky and Giant Breeds), and each has its own bath price, full-groom price and appointment length. Pick the breed and the right coat group loads automatically. Tank the Malamute books 90 minutes at $90 bath / $120 full groom because that's what a Double Coat actually takes. The Cavapoo books 75 minutes at Curly/Doodle pricing. So you’re not quoting on arrival anymore.
You already give the second dog a discount. You already charge for after-6pm pickups. You already mark up Christmas week. The booking math should reflect what you actually do, not what some 2014 booking tool thinks a kennel looks like.
This is the bit most pet software gives up on. Open the booking. Scan the dental bone and the Kong on the way out. Apply the boarding-retail bundle discount. Take payment via Square Terminal, Tap to Pay on your phone, cash, cheque, or any custom method you've named. Receipt sent, books reconciled, on to the next customer.
Retail SKUs live next to the boarding line items. No separate POS, no rekeying inventory at the end of the day.
GST 15%, VAT 20% or GST/HST is applied to each line, then sent to Xero or QuickBooks with the right tax codes.
Square Terminal, Tap to Pay, Stripe card-not-present, cash, cheque, e-Transfer, or anything you've named yourself. Tip captured automatically when amount received exceeds the total.
Connect Stripe or Square and every card payment lands on the booking it belongs to. Deposits are requested automatically, and customers pay with Pay Now from the booking flow, an email, the customer app or the desktop portal. At pickup, take the balance at the till or with Tap to Pay on a compatible iPhone or Android phone. Payments, invoices, tips and bookings reconcile themselves, so nobody re-keys a sale from another machine.
If you’d rather take cash, e-Transfer or use your own terminal, that works too. We just price the month on how much you took in instead.

If at least half of what you take in a month goes through our integrated processor (your Stripe or Square, connected), you pay $39.99 plus a card fee on those payments. The fee starts at 1.5% and drops to 0.5% as your month gets bigger.
If most of the month’s money comes in as cash or on another terminal, we price that month on how much you took in. Any card fees you did pay us that month come off that price, so you don’t pay twice.
We work out each month on its own after it ends, so one odd month doesn’t follow you into the next. You’ll get the numbers by email before anything extra goes on your bill, and we never go back and re-bill an old month. Running a big, busy shop? Ask us about a flat rate. Already with BooknBuddy?
